Mid Rogue Independent Physician Association (IPA) was founded in 1994. In 1996, Mid Rogue IPA began serving a few thousand Medicaid beneficiaries in Josephine County, Rogue River and Gold Hill in Jackson County and later expanded to also cover Glendale and Azalea in Douglas County. Today, the IPA serves more than 27,000 Medicaid and Medicare eligible members throughout Josephine, Jackson, and Curry Counties, plus Southern Douglas County.
What is an IPA?
An Independent Physician Association (IPA) is a cooperative providing business and professional assistance to physicians. The IPA is tasked to recruit new providers, negotiate contracts with insurance companies, provide administrative support to member practices, encourage the development of Patient Centered Medical Homes, and promote clinical integration.
AllCare is actively governed by a 21-member board comprised of eleven practicing physicians and 10 stakeholders including: one representative from each of our three Community Advisory Councils, a public member at large, two local hospital representatives, a representative of a Federally Qualified Health Center, a local pediatric dentist, a representative of a local Addictions Recovery program, and a representative of a local mental health provider. The ten stakeholders have no financial interest in the company. Each person on the board has an equal vote.
